We’ve put up a bird feeder in the back garden, and so far have seen blue tits, coal tits and sparrows eat from it. But typically I don’t have a decent telephoto lens on my camera so I can’t get close enough without disturbing them – before I can even raise my camera they’re off! So I’ve had to resort to taking pics through the kitchen window as best I can, then cropping them afterwards. All I’ve managed to capture this afternoon is a couple of house sparrows – but it’s a start! π

Theyβre great photographs Ruth π

I felt a bit like the bloke in the old kit kat advert, trying to take a photo of the pandas – and as soon as he turned his back to eat his kit kat they went crazy! π

Birds can be very wary of new feeders but I’ll bet they’ll be queuing up before too long. π

Actually the birds seem to love it – just not when I have my camera at the ready! π

I keep attempting to get pictures of the bluetits feeding their young, but try as I may, I am never quick enough! π

The bluetits here don’t seem to stay long at the feeder – they’re more ‘grab and go’ in their approach – but I’d love to get just one shot of them… patience will get there eventually, I hope! π
