The first full year we were here, in 2020, our little apple tree made plenty of showy blossom but little follow-through in the way of ending up with any really edible-looking fruit.
Last year, in 2021 we watched and waited patiently, but only harvested a grand total of nine ugly-looking little runts of apples in the autumn that made some very nice apple sauce, but that’s it.
However this year it looks like we might actually get a reasonable amount of proper apple-y-looking apples off the tree! There are currently over 30 still happily hanging in there, and most are still growing well, just like this one.
OK, so it’s not actually a flower, but it used to be an apple blossom, so I guess that counts for something 🙂
