Hello, my name is Ruth and welcome to my blog! š
I was born in 1963, the same year that US President John F Kennedy was assassinated, Dr Martin Luther King made his ‘I Have a Dream’ speech, and Alcatraz closed its doors forever… The Profumo Affair was the British political scandal of the year, and Kim Philby was named as the third man in the Burgess MacLean Russian spy ring. The Moors murders began, the Great Train Robbery took place and oh, France vetoed Britain’s entry into the European Common Market because the British Government lacked commitment to European integration… Hmmm…
Various labels that can be attached to me in life include wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, employee, friend. I consider myself to be Scottish, British, then European (in that order), am married to an American who grew up here in the UK, and we lived together in London for 18 years before moving back ‘home’ to Inverness in the North of Scotland in August 2019.
My blog posts will no doubt include a heap of everyday photographs and occasionally the odd poem or two and inevitably a whole messy pile of random thoughts and ramblings (and sometimes rants) about anything and everything, depending on my mood and what’s going on in the world around me day by day.
Thanks for visiting, hope to see you around! š
